apron laprobe

Here is a series of pictures showing the ladies trying to make some laprobes with a front pocket for those in wheelchairs, or chair bound. The pocket keeps track of the things you want close by, but don't have a walker and walker bag to put them in. Plus this laprobe made of fleece is WARM! Then when you stand up to move to another chair, or the bed.... the laprobe and pocket contents go with you, since it is tied on like an apron. Very clever!

Donated trims

Here are pictures of new fun trims that were donated to us through friends who don't want to see these books of trim samples go in the landfill...... The ladies got SOOO EXCITED to see them come in during our Sew & Sow time.

Some went in a sack to a lady who makes cards for sale in Mission Marketplace at our church. She also works with Alzheimer patients and can use these for sorting activities, or texture experiences.

Another bag went with a lady who makes purses. She can use them for zipper pulls, or other frills. Then there was the lady who works with pre-schoolers and found some she will use in her teaching. EVERYTHING HAS A PURPOSE!!

Thanks for the walker bag!

Here's an example of one of our walker bags in use. We donated it to a woman in an assisted living place. It's not too big so that heavy things pull the walker forward, but it's big enough to carry a newspaper and glasses, or other things.
We hope to make more of these and see that they are given to those who need them. They aren't hard to make, plus it is very valuable to those who receive them. You can't buy these in any store!!!!
